14th Detonator [Voice]

[The commander sounds a bit more stern and serious than normal if that's possible]

...When people disappear from Discedo, we all automatically assume that they were sent back to their original world. Is there strong evidence to prove that this is always the end result? I am well aware that some of those sent home eventually return here, but what about those who have not? They could be trapped somewhere that no one is aware of.

[small pause]

The scientists shouldn't be trusted for their word, especially after knowing their irrational behavior. One can't afford to believe everything that he's told.

...To think otherwise is a childish notion.

[identity profile] moonstruck-eyes.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
I... think it comes from firsthand knowledge of people who have disappeared for a time and come back rather than anything the scientists have said.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
In either case, they still cannot be trusted for their prior actions.

...and I'm still in a point of uncertainty if those who were "sent back" are actually home.

J-jerkface! XD

[identity profile] moonstruck-eyes.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're still talking about the scientists... like I said, I don't think the information came from them.

So making pessimistic assumptions like that isn't childish either?

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
...the "good result" isn't always true for everyone.

I'm stating my assumption so that others will be more cautious around the scientists. The people here might become too complacent otherwise.

[identity profile] singstheop.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
And will preventing people from being 'complacent' actually do any good? Does this actually accomplish anything at all? Will it really matter how cautious we are when it comes to the scientists?

Maybe it's a euphemism.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
A euphemism for a hidden objective that no one else is aware of?

[identity profile] notmanaging.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. Or maybe people simply tell each other their loved ones have gone home, because it's easier than simply not knowing.

You're not the first to suspect foul play. As far as some go, we do have people here who have been sent back and returned with their memories. This may or may not be a way of allaying fears or making us more complacent, but I believe you're right in not trusting the scientists.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
....I'm suspicious about those who never return back to Discedo.

Judging by the scientists' behavior, they don't appear to be the type to just let someone go.

[identity profile] boy-fatality.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
It's possible they are killed or kept by the scientists for whatever reason.

It's impossible to say for sure.

[identity profile] lovelyscientist.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
There are those who have gone and returned. It is possible that those who have not returned have been... compromised in some way.

But I don't believe that.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
...Do you have a particular reason in why you don't believe in the latter course of action?

When I went home, Luke was there, but when I came back, he was still here and hadn't gone home. From that, I knew that he would eventually be sent home, and it's likely they do the same thing for everyone.

It's impossible to say with absolute certainty. The evidence indicates individuals return home; but there evidence is by no means definite.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
That's right, evidence for one person doesn't hold true for everyone.

[identity profile] fate-foretold.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
There's no evidence. People just say that kind of stuff to make themselves feel better.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed.

...Though, there are still some cases that the people were actually returned home.
