31st Detonator [Audio]

After speaking with Denmark, a valid question was brought up.

As an inquiry, how many members of the Watch remain? I'm aware that your leader from before has disappeared... and a few individuals have reportedly been sent back too.

...So most importantly, is the overall organization still functioning well?

My duty and responsibility as a commander of Brionac.

And there's no kindness in duty?

[Forgive her for the laugh that comes next.]

Maybe not for some people. For me, duty and kindness have always been the same thing. Duty may be personally fulfilling but at it's heart, those who really believe in it don't carry their duties for their own fulfillment.

And if someone can speak of their duties in one breath and how they are willing to pick up where others have failed to do so in another, I'm very confident in wagering that they think something similar to that.

And if it's their duty to follow orders that are not considered kind...?

[identity profile] moonlitsong.livejournal.com 2011-03-02 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's certainly tricky, isn't it? It's certainly not fulfilling for the person carrying out that duty when they have to do something like that. And even if I say it all comes down to personal choice, even the choice we want and the best choice for the situation isn't always the kindest.

I've done many unkind things in the name of duty and I'm sure my family has as well. For one person to be protected, there is always someone who must be hurt. I don't care for it more than anyone else.

There are some individuals who enjoy carrying out duties that involve harming others.

Yes... that's the case with most situations when involving someone that you want to protect. Personal sacrifices are needed as well.

They are people who use duties as an excuse then, aren't they? They don't understand the true meaning of the word or the ideas behind it. When I speak of the kindness of duty, I don't speak of such false duty.

That's the difference, isn't it? True duty may do unkind things but it cannot be done without some heaviness in one's heart. [Her voice softens.] I know a man who stood against his own father and in the end killed him. It was his duty to protect others from the man and so he did the most unkind thing anyone could do. And yet he didn't do it without sorrow.

[There's a moment of silence on his end before he speaks again]

I haven't thought of duty in that perspective...

[identity profile] moonlitsong.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
I imagine it's not that common of one. My sister does enjoy saying that nobody quite looks at things the way I do.

[Her voice turns amused in it's tones.] Of course, I've never decided if she meant that as a compliment or not.

[His voice becomes quiet] ...She most likely meant it as a compliment.

Man tell me about it. :|

I'm sure she did. I'll just believe she did until I hear otherwise anyhow.

It may be rather impertinent of me and I do know you're not the leader as of yet but do you think I may be able to join this Watch? I'm afraid my own abilities are somewhat hampered but I will be very glad to do what I can.

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'm certain that you're allowed to join the Watch. The group always needs more members.

Have you spoken to a doctor to remove your chip?

[identity profile] moonlitsong.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Not as of yet, no. I only arrived a few days ago.

They can be removed though? That's a relief!

[identity profile] musicboxsoldier.livejournal.com 2011-03-04 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
A doctor known as Cube is the main person responsible for removing them.
